"Get Smart"

This is for all of you that are old enough to remember the TV show "Get Smart". (Jim is a big fan). Matt was on You Tube and they have a contest for tickets to the premiere of the new "Get Smart" with Steve Carrell. The object was to have the shoe phone passed from the right and you are supposed to say one of Smart's famous lines and then pass the phone to the left. Jim could not resist this form of entertainment. Here are Jim's and Kaycee's impressions of Maxwell Smart.

P.S. Jim wanted me to let you know that that was not his voice. The voices have been dubbed. I was the voice for Jim and Jim was the voice for Kaycee. This is the kind of fun we have at the Smith house.

Back To Work :(

Well we didn't win the lottery this last week. So I had to go back to work this morning. It's so hard getting up at 4 a.m. when last week I got to sleep in every day. Bandit is doing great (I would show pictures of the incision but I don't want to gross anybody out). Or vacation was great we finished it up by going to Kaycee's soccer game. They won 5-0, Kaycee played half at forward and half as goalie. She almost scored, she had a break away and got a good shot at goal but she shot it right at the goalie. One of these days she will learn to aim for the corners!!.

Bandit

Today we had to take our dog Bandit to the vet. For the last 3 months she's been having a hard time getting up when she is laying down. Since she is over 10 years old we thought it was arthritis or a bad hip. (She is over weight a bit). So we thought this might be it for our beloved Bandit. The vet took a look at her and said he thought it was a broken ligament and that it can be fixed with surgery. ( What bad parents we are not having her checked out earlier!?!). Well we hope everything will be alright the vet said that we have a 90% chance that she will recover better!! It still will cost an arm and a leg , but what can you do she is part of our family!!

Botanical Garden

Today we went to UCR Botanical Garden. Matt visited the garden on a field trip of the University and thought we would like it. It was very peaceful and quiet. We could here the birds, we saw a ton of lizards and some turtles in a pond. It sure is nice not having to get up early each morning and go to work. This week is going by so fast. Oh well, what can you do?? Maybe I'll win the lottery =).

La Brea Tar Pits

This is my very first blog. Thanks to the help from Matt. We are all on vacation this week. We asked the kids to find some inexpensive day trips

to take. They came up with the La Brea Tar Pits. It just so happens that on the first Tuesday of each month the admission is free.(Which fits our budget!!). So we headed into Los Angeles this morning. After fighting morning traffic and driving through some scary parts of L.A. we finally made it. Matt was a little disappointed that there was so many school kids on field trips. But as soon as the busses left we went back into the Museum and got abetter look at the displays. It was very interesting. As we were leaving Jim and Kaycee couldn't resist the urge to roll down the hill!! All in all it was a great day!!.
